Miracles Can Happen

"When we accept tough jobs as a challenge and
wade into them with joy and enthusiasm, miracles can happen."

Yes they do and I’ve had them happen to me.

To me it’s like when I was a child and watching “Peter Pan” with Mary Martin and Tinkerbell was dying and Pan asked that if you believed in fairies to clap your hands. I was right there in front of the TV clapping away. I still do believe in fairies to this day and I clap often just to let them know I’m still here.

The other day I was having a tough time and I was thinking about a friend who reminds me repeatedly that things just are. As I was contemplating this thought, I made a note to myself to call this friend and thank him for repeating this little tid bit as it gives me solace to let go of analyzing things. Accept was is, make a decision and get on with life.

Would you believe as I’m turning into the parking lot of the post office and this is about 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. there is my friend pulling in ahead of me, he’s going to the post office as well. Well, I got to tell him right then and there how much I appreciated his wisdom and that he keeps repeating it so I’d get IT.

I don’t know about him but it me it was a miracle, an answered prayer.

Do you ever have these things happen to you?

Movie to See!

I forgot to write it in last night but with Michael home earlier on Thursday, we watched Hell Boy with Ron Perlman (Beauty and the Beast – which I think is the best thing he ever did) and John Hurt. This movie rocks! I didn’t have a clue as to what the plot line would be but the movie kept me interested all the way through the end. You know what that means? I stayed awake through the whole movie and it was late by the time it was over and way past my bed time.

Friday’s Feast: A Buffet For Your Brain

Feast 35

Appetizer - What do you want for Valentine's Day? Peace and quiet and time with my sweetie.

Soup - If you could change the color of something you own, what would it be and which color would you make it? To please my baby and I did like it when I was doing it would be to change my hair color to blonde. Although, the longer I go, it’s going to be pretty close to that color anyway.

Salad - What's your favorite day of the week and why? Every day is my favorite day but I would have to say . . . nah, I like them all.

Main Course - What excuse do you use most often? I don’t live a life that I need to make excuses.

Dessert - Name something or someone you feel sorry for. I feel sorry for the people in Iraq. I would hate to live in an atmosphere of always wondering when the next suicide bomber is going to go off and where.

Well there, you have my day in a nutshell.

What I’m Reading:

“A Wizard of Earthsea” by Ursula K. Le Guin – I’m slowly moving forward in this book and it is getting better. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is about Le Guin’s writing but it’s different than the way MacDonald writes. In some sense it reminds me of Harry Potter as the main character is going to school to learn magickal stuff and he, too, has trials and tribulations.

“Fall on Your Knees” by Ann-Marie MacDonald – Getting down to the last hundred pages. It’s still a great book although dark in subject but MacDonald can write a story that keeps you interested.
