Words of Mine ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cleaning Day "Our goal should be to achieve joy." -- Ana Castillo, 1953-, U.S. poet – Essayist and short story writer; feminist; books include Massacre of the Dreamers (1994) and Peel My Love Like an Onion (1999); her Mexican heritage is a theme in her writings. Today, I have it in my head to clean my kitchen, dining room and hallway floor. The kitchen floor isn’t too bad as I sweep it most days and attempt to get it washed once a week because of the traffic and cooking. Oh yeah, and one black and white kitten who likes ice cubes. The rest of the floors, I believe I can count on one hand how many times it’s been washed since we moved in. Basically, only when Spike was sick or messed on the floor. It feels good to the spirit and to bare feet to have a clean floor. Michael had gotten some new boots and they were leaving scuff marks on the floor. Surprise me, I used the new Mr. Clean magic erasers on those marks. A good many of them came up easy but some I will have to go back and scrub a little harder. I also did some furniture moving, sheet changing and laundry’ a satisfying day to say the least. Tales of the Mighty Max During all this cleaning Mr. Max was the supervisor and was at my side making sure I was doing everything to his satisfaction. When I moved the four bar stools into the kitchen, Max had to walk through each of the chairs and then back through sniffing and all the changes. Plus, he was a task master as I did my exercises making sure I was putting my all into it. If I didn’t, he would attack my feet or ankles. I got him back though by having him lie on his back on my legs and I would blow on his stomach. He didn’t laugh like babies do when you do this to their tummies but Max’s eyes would get big and I could tell he was wondering what the heck I was doing. Oh yeah, he was even quiet while I was meditating. I do believe he is enjoying my being at home. I definitely enjoy his company with Michael sleeping or when Michael is at work. Blessings Today: Woke up sleepy but in a better mood than I’ve felt in quite awhile Currently Reading: “The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown. I’m not going to make a link to the bio of the book as I’m sure most everyone has read it by now. Wow, this book is full of action, intrigue, mystery and short chapters mz. em ![]() 11:13 p.m. - Friday, May. 12, 2006 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
