Words of Mine ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Happy Mother’s Day Sunday – May 14, 2006 Love doesn't just sit there like a stone, it has to be made, like brick; re-made all the time, made new. -- Ursula K. Le Guin To all of you women who are mothers, happy mother’s day. My day did not begin well but it ended well. The Faery Queen and I were chatting on the phone about a walk down to our favorite coffee place when the Queen mentioned that afterwards she was going to go and have a pedicure. A pedicure? On Sunday, on Sunday that is a holiday? Oh my. Would you believe me when I tell you that I have never had a pedicure? I’ve done them myself but to have someone else touch and paint my tootsies, what a thought. Well, the electricity began to hum and the usual walk and coffee went out the window and a new plan was formed. Now, to scurry around to clean up, dress, makeup and brush the hair to be ready to go into town for some fun. He he, I left Michael (he was sleeping) a note that I had gone to get a pedicure in town and would be back later. Since the Faery Queen has had pedicures before she was much calmer about the event but I was floating. Since I hate leaving the house, this was definitely a new adventure and what fun to share it with a friend. On the way we stopped off at Starbuck’s and each got a mocha frappuccino and then off to have our feet massaged and toes painted. I chose a nice light blue color with a hibiscus-looking flower painted on with a purple rhinestone in the middle on my big toes. Queen chose a bright pink with a flower. They hibiscus worked for me as I was wearing a black with white Hawaiian shirt along with my island-looking flip-flops. I was positively stylin’. Once the paint had set, we set off to have some lunch and then return to home. One of the things about having my toe nails painted is I’m wearing my flip-flops more. I want to show off that paint work. It’s a good thing the weather is warmer than it has been. I do believe a new tradition has been created and I can hardly wait for next year. Blessings Today: Feeling fairly good Currently Reading: “The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown. I’m not going to make a link to the bio of the book as I’m sure most everyone has read it by now. Wow, this book is full of action, intrigue, mystery and short chapters mz. em ![]() 7:22 p.m. - Sunday, May. 14, 2006 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
